Gemma graduated from Hull University with an honours degree in Law in 2000. She undertook the Legal Practice Course in 2000-2001 at York for which she gained a distinction. She qualified as a Solicitor in 2003 since which she has specialised in Family Law. Gemma joined Burton & Dyson in 2011 and was appointed a Director in 2013.

Gemma has considerable experience in all aspects of family work including divorce, separation, cohabitation and civil partnership dissolutions and is a member of the Law Society’s Family Law Accreditation Scheme.

Gemma also advises on all aspects of private and public law children matters especially in relation to residence, contact, care proceedings and child protection matters. She routinely represents clients in the Magistrates / Family Proceedings Court as well as the County Court.

Most Saturday’s in the winter months Gemma can be found on a freezing cold hockey pitch where she plays for Brigg Ladies 1st XI in an attempt to keep fit and active. Gemma is also a Director at Tall Oaks Academy Trust and White’s Wood Lane Academy in Gainsborough.
