Alastair qualified as a pharmacist in 1987 and moved to Lincolnshire in 1989 to take up a pharmacy manager post with Lincolnshire Co-operative Ltd.

After taking on various roles within the Pharmacy Division, Alastair was appointed Head of Pharmacy at Lincolnshire Co-operative in 2003 and has responsibility for the policies, procedures and legal compliance across 48 pharmacies and a pharmaceutical wholesale business.

Alastair is vice-chairman of the Lincolnshire Local Pharmaceutical Committee which works on behalf of pharmacy to establish links with other NHS bodies such as clinical commissioning groups and public health. He has also worked closely with the University of Lincoln to help them establish the first School of Pharmacy in the region.

Outside of work, Alastair is an avid cricket fan and tries to play a bit of golf.
