We hope by now you have explored our services on our website; this is our chance to tell you more about who we are. If you have any questions we haven't answered, then please do give us call or drop us an email. We're always happy to talk with potential and existing customers, and interested third parties.
Lincolnshire Home Improvement Agency (LHIA) is an award-winning registered charity which began in 2006. Since then we have been repeatedly praised for our work in enabling the county's elderly and vulnerable residents to live independently in their homes for as long as possible. This is something we're extremely proud of.
Experienced & Professional Staff
We have 12 experienced staff, including 5 surveyors, based around the county - so we are never far away. Each of our surveyors is supported by a dedicated caseworker who helps manage projects smoothly and considerately from start to finish. Administrative and managerial staff also play a crucial role. Mick King MSc. the Agency Director, provides a strong background in local partnership development, and a number of sectors. The Agency operations are overseen by the Board of Trustees.
Through our strong links with other health-based statutory and voluntary agencies we have been of particular benefit to elderly and vulnerable people. Our customers are sometimes unsure of the processes involved in property alterations so we're a vital link.
Property Expertise
The type of work we typically carry out includes level-access showers and bathroom adaptations; ramps and mobility doorways; stair and through-floor lifts; accessibility kitchens and extensions, and structural repairs. Larger and non-residential projects may also be handled.
We can offer complete project management to include design, draughting, budgeting, obtaining of statutory consents, tendering, appointment and supervision of contractors and final account reconciliation.
Naturally, we take special care during building projects to consider your individual circumstances particularly when work necessitates disturbance within the household.
Our caseworkers will advise on grants and benefits options, and navigate the necessary form-filling throughout the process. In grant-assisted cases our services are often free.
Behind the Scenes
In 2009 we were honoured to receive straight passes in all eight of our national Quality Assessment Framework ratings. Just a few months later we gained two of our national body's awards for 'Excellence in Providing Support & Advice' and 'Agency of the Year'.
The wider LHIA network is a hardworking one. Our non-executive Board of Trustees has a breadth of business expertise ideally suited to benefit our operation and Directors' plans for the future. They are:
