Our caseworkers may be called upon to perform benefits checks, help customers to complete application forms and/or accompany them to interviews. In helping customers access the benefits to which they are entitled, this sort of casework also enhances emotional and physical wellbeing, empowering people to take control of their own lives and maintain independence. It also provides a boost to the local economy: £1.6 million in extra income results in approximately £2.03 million circulating locally.
Now in receipt of Attendance Allowance, a Wellbeing Service customer comments that her caseworker helped her with benefits she didn’t even know existed. ‘All the benefits that I’m due I’ve now got which makes life very much easier.’
